Leadership Marion County

Mission Statement

Leadership Marion County seeks to unite the communities of Marion County as it identifies future leaders, examines issues, enhances the network of present and potential leaders, and encourages responsible service at the local and county levels.

The Program

The LMC Program provides class participants with the opportunity to build and strengthen leadership skills and capacities while learning more about the County. Included in the program is a class project, where class participants are expected to choose, develop and implement their project together, as the "lab" of the leadership program. Additional time outside of the class may be needed to complete the project.

Participants

Any Marion County resident may apply for the program. The Board of Trustees selects individuals from all areas of the county to participate. Failure to be selected in no way indicates the nominee is not satisfactory. Nominees who are not selected are encouraged to apply again.

Tuition

The tuition fee for each participant is $175.00, which covers only a partial cost of the program. This includes meals, graduation dinner, materials and program costs. The fee may be paid by the participant, his/her employer or sponsoring organization. The tuition check must be enclosed with application form. Those not accepted into the class will be refunded their tuition fee.

Graduation requires perfect attendance, with the exception of one excused absence, judged by the Board of Trustees.
